Delta announces flights from the United States to Tulum.

Aug 05 2024

Delta announced that starting January 11, 2025, it will offer flights from Detroit to Tulum Airport. The airline stated that in addition to the existing service from Atlanta and Minneapolis, it will provide 10 weekly flights from the United States to Tulum, four of which will be on Saturdays.

Delta Air Lines revealed the new frequency to Tulum as part of its announcement of new options for flying to Mexico this winter, which also includes routes from Los Angeles to Mazatlán. The new Delta routes to Tulum and Mazatlán will operate on Saturdays with Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A319 aircraft, offering First Class, Delta Comfort, and Main Cabin options.

Additionally, Jorge Molina, General Director of Tourism and Economy of Tulum, mentioned that, regarding connectivity with European cities through JetBlue, the Tulum City Council has launched a tourism promotion campaign in Europe to attract more travelers from that continent.

This initiative began with digital training for travel agents in the United Kingdom, who can access promotions and accommodation awards to explore Tulum for several days. He noted that there is already connectivity with four European countries via JetBlue, which offers transatlantic flights with a stopover in the United States to reach Mexico at this destination in the Riviera Maya.

The cities from which flights originate include Dublin (Ireland), London (England), Edinburgh (Scotland), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Paris (France), via New York's JFK Airport, United States.

As reported by REPORTUR.mx, Tulum Airport, with six foreign airlines, has captured 0.5% of the international market and is now among the top 10 Mexican airports with the highest number of international passengers, according to data from the Federal Aviation Agency (AFAC).
